The Central library, a gateway to knowledge resources is one of the central services to Valia Koonambaikulathamma College of engineering and technology (VKCET). As a proud partner in the Institute's march towards its vision, it plays a vital role in acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge. It has put in place policies and procedures, systems and services and the ambience that facilitate creation of new knowledge. It has an excellent collection of both print and electronic books, journals and other learning resources.
It has adequate infrastructures to meet its requirements, has computerized all its operations using LIBSOFT Software and provides access to the collection through on-line public access catalogue(OPAC). The Central Library is well equipped with all modern facilities and resources. VKCET deeply engaged to provide a world class facility to its users.
VKCET Library System consists of a central library and five departmental libraries. All students, faculty members and employees of the institute are entitled to make use of the library facilities on taking library membership. The library besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library services through its various divisions.

SERVICE AND FACILITIES
Reprographic Service: Reference books and journal articles can be Xeroxed at the section. Photocopying Machine is interfaced with a computer system so that printouts of seminar papers, project reports, assignments etc. can be taken at this section.
Internet Browsing: Browsing facility is available in the Library for staff and students free of cost.
SECTIONS OF THE LIBRARY
Reference section: We have a very good number of reference books that include Dictionaries etc. All these source of information are arranged in this section.
Technical Journal Section: All technical journals are arranged alphabetically in this section.
General Stack: Books meant for borrowing are kept in this section. Books are classified and arranged according to Dewey Decimal Classification System. Open Access System is followed.
