About Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Prof. K. C PANICKER heads the department of EEE at VKCET. He is a Post Graduate of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Bombay. Further, he possesses an MBA degree from the University of Kerala. He has over 41 years of experience in teaching, industry and administration. Previously, he had served as the Professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. Prof. Panicker had also served as an active member for framing the scheme and syllabi of the University of Kerala during his academic career. He was a member of the Board of Studies, Academic council, and senate of the University of Kerala. During the period from 2006-10, he also served as a Member, Syndicate of Kerala University. He was also there in the Academic Council of KTU for 2 years.

Established in 2009, the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at VKCET fosters a dynamic academic environment, which is committed to a tradition of excellence in teaching, research and service. With a team of dedicated faculty members having ample expertise in various fields of specializations, such as Power Electronics, Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Control Systems, Instrumentation & Digital Electronics, the department maintains a stable foundation and strong commitment to teaching and is acknowledged as one of the leading EEE department in the region. The department continues to make steady progress in creative research & development and to engage in constant expansion of enriching knowledge. The different laboratories of the department are manned by well experienced Technical support personnel.

The Electrical Engineering curriculum is a four-year program, awarding on successful completion, a Bachelor degree in Technology in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering field. The course, as per the norms and guidelines of Kerala Technological University, has been designed to providing breadth and depth of knowledge and significant design experience across the key areas of Electrical & Electronics Engineering that evolve with the needs of the society. Our students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they progress through the program. They also gain practical experience by working and experimenting in the highly equipped workshops and laboratories of the Department.
